Will of Isham Hendon (Son of James)

May 15, 1799

Jackson County, Georgia

In the name of God amean this 15th Day of May 1799. I Isham Hendon of the County of Jackson and State of Georgia being sick of Body but of perfect mind and memory calling to mind the mortality of man that it is appointed for him once to Die Do make and ordain this my last will and testament and first of all I recomend my soul to God who gave it and as reaching (?) such mortality is safe as it hath pleased God to bless me with. I dispose of in manner following viz.. I leave the whole of my estate real or personal after my final debts are paid unto my loving wife Patience. During her life time or widowhood for the use of Raising and Educating my childering and at her Death or marriage my will and desire is that the remainder of the Estate real or personal be sold at the descretion (?) of my executor and executrix and in equal division to be made of the proffits arising therefrom between my wife Patience and all my surviving children namely Betsey, James, Aaron, Norris, Isham, Nancy,
and Elijah Hendon and I lastly hereby appoint my loving wife Patience and my brother Elijah Hendon my whole and sole executor and Executrix of this my last will and testament. Revoking all former wills by me and Signed Sealed Published and declared and pronounced the Day above (signed) in presence of
